Three credit sequences

 Se7en

The opening credit sequence immediately hits me as disturbing. Close ups of notebooks, blades, and hands slicing paper are shown which gives like a creepy vibe. The text font is wriggly and rough. The music has a sort of crisp, broken sound. This shows the murderer precisely plans every kill and move he does. Even before you see any characters, you're afraid. The movie makes you uncomfortable with the quick and creepy cuts since you already know the mystery is going to be violent and dark, this helps the introduction. You expect a smart but danger villain. The credits give hints. They show control and obsession. This draws your attention qucikly.

The Silence of the Lambs

This girl named Calrice is sprinting through the woods in the opening credits. The scene is calm and cold with the music being dark and sad. The font in the opening intro is simple and clear. When Clarice is running the audience can feel her determination and focus while she's going through the obstacles. You feel like you're being watched in the forest, this builds tension early on. By brining you back to reality at the agency starts to really introduce the movie and the problem. The movie opening ends at a cliff hanger really starting the mystery vibe of the movie.

The Black Phone

The Black Phone's opening title sequence creates a scary and creepy vibe. You see pictures of children going about their daily lives in a peaceful area. At first, this calms you down but you become scared as the dark music slowly gets creepier. It sets of the creepy and scary vibe immediately. The pictures have a old, dirty quality that fit the 1970s vibe and gives the movie a more authentic feel. The dark tone and slow cuts of the shots give off a feeling of danger. You're scared but nothing scary has happened yet. This is important since tension is an important part of horror mystery films. Without showing anything, the introduction sets you up for fear. It relates to the themes of danger in peoples daily life and childhood.
